From the beautifully restored carriage house to the brand-new 23,000-square-foot student life center, it's clear that Cathedral is a special combination of a traditional educational experience and a school dedicated to the needs of today's students.
Cathedral is outstanding for three, very specific reasons:
Tradition
Since 1918, Cathedral has been true to her mission-dedication to the holistic development of its students. That dedication has changed the lives of thousands of Cathedral students throughout the years. More important, Cathedral students have changed the world we live in. A Pulitzer Prize winner, a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, and high-achieving men and women throughout the world attribute part of their success to what they learned at Cathedral High School.
Diversity
Cathedral means true diversity. We are inclusive, not exclusive. Cathedral brings together students from every economic, geographic, religious, and academic background into an accepting and nurturing environment where they can learn from each other as well as from our experienced faculty.
Character
While Cathedral's immediate goal is to prepare her students for acceptance at the colleges of their choice, our ultimate goal is to create competent, concerned, responsible, and ethical members of society. Excellence, both academic and personal, is recognized and fostered. For this reason, Cathedral students are chosen based on a combination of factors: grade transcripts, teacher recommendations, and, most important, a personal family interview. Other private schools admit students solely on admission test scores. Because Cathedral is dedicated to the development of the whole student, we believe that's how students should be selected as well.
Cathedral High School, a Catholic institution, will be the model for all high schools as she profoundly shapes the way students think, serve, and lead.
Our Mission:
Cathedral, a Catholic college preparatory high school, provides to a diverse group of students, opportunities for spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical growth through service and academic excellence.
