Dearborn Christian School offers day school classes for kindergarten and grades one through eight, preschool classes, home school extra-curricular classes and before and after school care. An important aspect of our Christ-centered education at Dearborn Christian School is our extracurricular activities. Music and art help develop better-rounded, successful students. In addition to the high quality music and art programs that are part of the curriculum, we offer a variety of fine arts enrichment activities, as well as field trips and other activities to promote Christ-centered education. Dearborn Christian School exists not as a church school nor as a private school, but as a uniquely parent-controlled school. DCS aims to partner with families in the Dearborn, MI area and has for the past 53 years. We believe that a Christian education, coupled with a strong church connection and family fostering, is a third arm to Christian families who enjoy a vital relationship with God and permit that relationship to dominate the atmosphere of their homes. For the past 7 years in a row, DCS eighth grade students have tested on the freshman college level. Scholastically, DCS eighth grade students consistently tested at college level aptitudes for the last seven years in the Iowa Basic Skills test. But it’s not just our eighth graders—it’s across the entire school! We’ve known for years that DCS measures up and our students test well, but hard statistics prove it! The graph below shows in yellow the national average or expectation level for grades 1-8. The blue graph bars show DCS higher in every grade! As you can see, the 7th grade class tested on the same aptitude as an 11th grade student in the 8th month of classes. In terms of percentages, our students tested higher than 50% of the national average across all grades. |
