| My name is George and 2yrs ago while visiting gorillas in Rwanda-Uganda I met a people who although they had barely enough to survive were sharing what they did have with each other. I was so captured by this expression of kindness that I scraped plans to build cages for a chimp sanctuary and instead funded the building of an orphanage. The twist is about the same time I made a serious attempt to foster HOPE in these kids I was disposed with an auto immune disease. This seriously crimps my ability to sponsor their dreams and immediate needs. I may have went into this as my personal penance, wanting to show thanks instead of say thanks but they don't have the luxury to wait for me to get better. Which brings me to the purpose of this flyer. I am not sure i'm comfortable being a poster boy for helping (more like needing help ha) but here goes. I have decided to celebrate my 51st year by kayaking down the Hudson river to NYC raising money fOr my orphans. As I write this it seems kind of lame, only a couple hundred miles at no particular pace, but it has become my "Everest" with the new limits. Anyone out there pissed at the amount of things your losing as you age? Well, maybe by me challenging life it will be our way of "kickin it in the NUTS". If your into drama and excitement trust me with the endless barrage of symptoms this disease possesses we will both be surprised to make daily progress. This disease makes me feel as if I'm disappearing so before that may happen I'd like to finish what I started and let God know that I love him. Kid Rock has a line in "only God knows why" that troubled me enough to motivate this attempt. He says "I've been giving just not getting "when it comes to his life. Maybe that's the point, to give and not be concerned by what you get. Personally I've been getting, but not real happy with what that was. If you equate my pain with my level of commitmeat (or is that my need to be committed haha) you might consider that while feeling the pain of writing the check. So if what I'm proposing strikes a nerve in you then this is your charity cause I'm not tax exempt so you get nothing for your contribution. I am pretty sure that a lot of you would like your lives to amount to more than a pile of stuff. My suggestion is to think outside yourself and just give. If your not able to give $ don't sweat it, send me the energy of your support so I can tap the potential of those who can. C'mon jmnp in and feel good! I'm pretty sure I'm the Lords favorite and he told me that the amount of "goodness" you feel is directly related to the amount on your check.
