Since 1997, Positive Energy Solar has provided complete solar power systems for New Mexico homes and businesses. We have fully installed over 400 Grid-tied photovoltaic systems and nearly 100 off-grid PV systems. As of January 2010, Positive Energy has installed over 25% of PNM area Grid-tied systems. We are licensed commercial and residential electrical contractors specializing in solar electricity; in fact, this is all we do. We have ten NABCEP certified technicians on staff. NABCEP certification represents the highest accomplishment for a PV installer and it is the only nationally recognized standard. We do not subcontract any of the work directly related to your solar photovoltaic system: site evaluation, sales, design, installation, and service. We are New Mexico's only SunPower Premier dealer; we offer SCHOTT modules as well which are locally manufactured in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Additionally, we provide products from SMA, Fronius, Enphase, Outback, Sanyo and Solar World. Positive Energy is an employee-owned, carbon neutral, people-planet-profits based New Mexico business. We have four offices and over 40 employees in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos and Las Cruces. We pride ourselves in being the best designers and installers of solar power systems in the state. Now is the right time to make an investment in the world's first and best renewable energy resource: solar power. There have always been compelling environmental reasons to use solar power in your home or business and now the financial incentives and lower costs make it a profitable financial investment as well. The explosive growth in solar over the past few years is almost entirely in the grid-tied market – that is, the mainstream application of solar electricity to utility-powered homes. One of the key drivers of the explosion in grid-tie solar is the advent of net metering policies. By law, utilities are required to purchase solar-generated electricity from your Grid-tied system. This means that on sunny days when your solar system is generating more electricity than you need on site, the excess is fed back into the utility line and you are compensated for it. Also, the investor-owned utilities (PNM, El Paso Electric and Xcel Energy) will pay you for the "green tags" or "Renewable Energy Certificates - RECs" that are associated with each kilowatt-hour of renewable energy electricity you generate. Other financial incentives: there are no Gross Receipts Tax (sales tax) on solar PV systems. Federal income tax credits will cover a full 30% of your system's cost. A state income tax credit will cover an additional 10%. Powering your home or business with solar energy demonstrates your commitment to a healthy environment and a more sustainable future for us all. We welcome the opportunity to be your renewable energy partner. |
