In
September of 1919, the long-held dream of the Reverend Thomas F. McCarthy,
Pastor of Saint Clement Parish, came to fruition, and Saint Clement Parish
School opened. Under the direction of Sister Mary Ester and with the support of
the Sisters of Saint Joseph, the traditions of academic excellence and Catholic
values merged into the energy and spirit that has continued to the present.
For over nine decades, Saint Clement Parish School has instilled values that
are firmly based on our Catholic tradition. The mission of the Saint Clement Parish School is to
create a Christian learning environment with special emphasis on supporting
those students who thrive best in a small and structured setting, through which
the unique giftedness of each student is recognized, appreciated and developed,
where faculty and staff encourage students to join with them in nurturing and
motivating each other to develop confidence and a sense of their God-given
self-worth, reach their full spiritual and academic potential, become life-long
learners, and begin to assume positions of leadership and service within a
wider community.
Saint
Clement Parish School is a private, co-educational Catholic school for grades
Pre-K through twelve and comprises a pre-school program, elementary school,
junior high school, and senior high school on one campus. The School is located in the thriving and
diverse Medford/Somerville community where we share our quiet neighborhood with
prestigious TuftsUniversity. Our campus is easily accessible by public
transportation and an after school program is available for younger students.
"Through all my son's many years at Saint Clement School, the faculty, staff and
administration practiced an environment of strong self esteem, support,
communication, activities and thinking of others in place of oneself. "I would
encourage any parent wishing to provide an excellent education for their child
to look into St. Clement school, from our own experience, you will not regret
the decision."
