St. John's Lutheran school is a private Christian school that offers learning opportunities for children in preschool through Grade 8. It is maintained and supported by the St. John's Lutheran church. Enrollment is open to students of all faiths, nationalities, and ethnic origins.
We are able to offer an academically challenging curriculum, as well as a Christ-centered environment where students grow spiritually, as well as intellectually, physically and socially. All of our teachers are committed to working with families in helping to nurture the development of the whole child.
It is the purpose of the school to be an extension of the home in Christian training. We wish to work with children and parents who are willing to walk with us in oneness of spirit and purpose.
St. John's is a fully accredited school awarded by the Western Asssociation of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and has also received National Lutheran School Acredditation (NLSA) from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. We not only follow the California state standards, but also the Pacific Southwest District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, as well.
We have a long history in Christian education dating back to 1883. Our caring and loving faculty provide quality instruction in an environment that recognizes each student as a special unique child of God.
We also encourage parental involvement in a child's school for the educational success of every child. Most of the parents at St. John's are already heavy participants in student activities. Participation ranges from being a room parent and helping teachers plan classroom events to assisting with the supervision of the playground. We have countless opportunities for parents to get involved and to share abilities and interests for the benefit of our students.
